As Modi Government Hits 9-Year Mark, Congress Demands Answers

The Congress on Tuesday demanded answers from the Narendra Modi government on a range of issues, including the economy, inflation, and unemployment, on the ninth anniversary of its formation.

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government had failed to deliver on its promises and had only benefited the rich and the powerful.

"The Modi government has been in power for nine years, but the people of India are still waiting for the benefits of development. The economy is in shambles, inflation is at an all-time high, and unemployment is rampant," Gandhi said.

"The Modi government has only benefited the rich and the powerful. The poor, the middle class, and the farmers have been left to fend for themselves," he added.

The Congress leader also accused the Modi government of mismanaging the COVID-19 pandemic and of failing to provide relief to the people who have been affected by the pandemic.

"The Modi government has failed to provide relief to the people who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has not done enough to provide jobs and to help the businesses that have been affected by the pandemic," Gandhi said.

The BJP, however, dismissed the Congress's allegations and said that the government had delivered on its promises.

"The Congress is only trying to create a negative atmosphere. The government has delivered on its promises and has worked hard to improve the lives of the people," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.

"The economy is growing, inflation is under control, and unemployment is down. The government has also done a lot to help the people who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," he added.

The ninth anniversary of the Modi government comes at a time when the country is facing a number of challenges, including the economy, inflation, and unemployment. The Congress is hoping to capitalize on these challenges and to win the next general elections.
