Two drones attacked an oil pipeline facility in Russia's Pskov region on Saturday, causing damage to an administrative building but no casualties, the regional governor said.

The attack comes amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, and while there has been no claim of responsibility, Ukraine has been accused of carrying out similar attacks in the past.

The governor, Mikhail Vedernikov, said the drones struck the facility at around 6:30 a.m. local time. He said the building was damaged by the explosions, but there were no reports of injuries.

"The administrative building of the oil pipeline was damaged as a result of an attack by two unmanned aerial vehicles," Vedernikov said in a statement on Telegram.

He said an investigation was underway, but did not provide any further details.

The attack comes as Russia is facing increasing economic sanctions from the West over its invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions have hit Russia's oil and gas industry hard, and the country is now facing a severe fuel shortage.

The drone attack could further disrupt Russia's oil and gas exports, and could lead to even higher energy prices.

It is unclear who was behind the attack, but Ukraine has been accused of carrying out similar attacks in the past. In April, two drones attacked an oil depot in the Russian city of Bryansk, causing a fire and damaging several buildings.

Ukraine has not claimed responsibility for the Bryansk attack, but senior Ukrainian officials have welcomed the news of successful drone attacks on Russian soil.

The latest attack is a reminder of the growing threat posed by drones. Drones are becoming increasingly sophisticated and easy to use, and they can be used to carry out a variety of attacks, including bombings and assassinations.

The use of drones in warfare is a new and evolving threat, and it is unclear how countries will respond to it. However, it is clear that drones will play an increasingly important role in future conflicts.
