Bihar BJP leaders on Tuesday staged a protest against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not attending the inauguration of the new Parliament building in New Delhi. The leaders accused Kumar of "double standards" and said that he was not being fair to the people of Bihar.
The protest was led by BJP state president Sanjay Jaiswal and other senior leaders, including Nand Kishore Yadav, Gopal Narayan Singh, and Prem Kumar. The leaders raised slogans against Kumar and demanded that he should resign as the chief minister.
"Nitish Kumar has always claimed to be a nationalist and a supporter of development. But his absence from the inauguration of the new Parliament building shows that he is not sincere about these things," Jaiswal said.
"He is only interested in his own political interests. He has no concern for the people of Bihar," he added.
The BJP leaders also accused Kumar of being biased against the people of Bihar. They said that he has not done enough for the development of the state and that he has only been interested in promoting his own party, the Janata Dal (United).
"Nitish Kumar has to choose between his party and the people of Bihar. He cannot serve both at the same time," Jaiswal said.
The protest by the BJP leaders comes at a time when Kumar is facing a lot of criticism from the opposition parties. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress have been accusing him of being a "puppet" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The RJD and the Congress have also been demanding that Kumar should resign as the chief minister and allow the people of Bihar to elect a new government.
It remains to be seen how Kumar will respond to the demands of the BJP leaders and the opposition parties. However, the protest by the BJP leaders is a clear sign that he is facing a lot of heat from all sides.
